Jan. 10 USCHO Live! features NCHC commissioner Jim Scherr, writer Dave Hendrickson

The Tuesday, Jan. 10, episode of USCHO Live! features new National Collegiate Hockey Conference commissioner Jim Scherr and writer Dave Hendrickson, USCHO.com Hockey East columnist and author of the new novel Cracking the Ice.

Scherr, the former CEO of the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Wrestling executive director, was named the first NCHC commissioner on Jan. 4. He is tasked with forming a staff and working on a television deal for the league, which starts play in the 2013-14 season.

Hendrickson is an award-winning writer who has covered Hockey East for USCHO.com since its inception, as well as appearing on radio and cable sports networks in New England. Cracking the Ice is his first young adult novel, and traces the compelling story of an African-American teen hockey player in the racially-charged year of 1968.
