Rensselaer adds USPHL goaltender St. Denis to active roster

Rensselaer announced Tuesday the addition of goaltender Kyle St. Denis to the program’s freshman class.

“We are excited to have Kyle join our hockey program,” said Engineers coach Seth Appert in a statement. “His work ethic, competitiveness and character make him a good fit for our program’s values.”

A native of Katonah, N.Y., St. Denis split the first half of the season between the Syracuse Stars and Springfield Pics of the United States Premier Hockey League. In 24 games this season, he was 5-7-1 with a 3.29 GAA and a .917 save percentage. He attended Hotchkiss School in Connecticut from 2013 to 2016.

St. Denis’ addition comes on the heels of RPI suspending sophomore goalie Cam Hackett for “failing to uphold team standards” back on Jan. 13.
