Ohio State women adds two new assistant coaches

Ohio State announced Monday that Brittany Carlson will join the staff as an undergraduate assistant coach and Jeff Salajko will serve as goalie coach.

Carlson spent the last four seasons as a defenseman with the Buckeyes and three times named WCHA All-Academic and Academic-All Big Ten and was named a WCHA scholar-athlete twice.

Salajko served as a volunteer assistant coach with OSU men’s team for two seasons under then-head coach John Markell from 2009-10.

“It is always a good thing when you can have alums around your program,” Ohio State head coach Nate Handrahan said in a statement. “Brit will get a ton of experience in a lot of areas such as travel planning, video, practice development and player skill development in her first exposure to coaching. It is important to us to continue to cultivate the next generation of female coaches to be in this great game.”
