Going a perfect four-for-four on the power play, the Northern Michigan Wildcats downed Bowling Green, 5-2, in league action. Sitting just three points behind the Falcons (12-7-6, 9-3-5-2 WCHA) entering the game, Northern Michigan moved into a tie for second place with Bowling Green in the WCHA standings, eight points behind Minnesota State. The Wildcats (12-10-3, 10-5-2-2 WCHA) got two power-play goals from Troy Loggins, while Joseph Nardi and Darien Craighead also converted. Denver Pierce scored the other goal for Northern Michigan, while Atte Tolvanen made 23 saves in net. Bowling Green’s Eric Dop took the loss with 29 saves on 34 shots. Mitch McLain and Brett D’Andrea netted goals for the visiting Falcons.
