Mason Jobst tallied a three-point night in helping Ohio State step on the gas late as the second-seeded Buckeyes exploded for four third period goals against Michigan State for a 6-2 game one win in a Big Ten quarterfinal series at Value City Arena.

Tanner Laczynski and Matthew Weis netted power play goals for the Buckeyes that sandwiched a Patrick Khodorenko tally for the Spartans to make the score 2-1 after two, but Jobst scored his 17th at 1:54 of the third and the Buckeyes took on running from there getting even strength goals from Sasha Larocque and John Wiitala with a late power play goal by Christian Lampasso at 19:59.

Michigan State’s Damian Chrcek scored an even strength marker at 18:38, but the Spartans never got within less than three goals after Jobst lit the lamp early in the last period.
