Sevigny Slams Door As St. Catherine Marches Past Augsburg

Jacquelle Sevigny stopped all 27 shots she faced and Mahrya Horner had two goals and an assist to lead St. Catherine to a 3-0 victory over host Augsburg Friday at Augsburg Ice Arena.

The victory was St. Catherine’s first over Augsburg in five attempts over the past three seasons. It also marked Augsburg’s first-ever home shutout loss to an NCAA Division III opponent in its six seasons of varsity hockey.

St. Catherine has yet to give up a goal in its two victories this week. The Wildcats shut out Wisconsin-Eau Claire 9-0 on Wednesday.

Kim Hayes opened the scoring at the 9:32 mark, with assists to Honer and Courtney Adney. Honer scored both of her goals in a six-minute span in the second period, an unassisted tally at the 11:09 mark, and a power-play goal from Adney and Hayes at 17:49.
