RIT spreads the wealth in crushing Connecticut

Seven players scored as Rochester Institute of Technology responded to a home loss with a 7-1 thrashing of Connecticut on Saturday.

The teams split their Atlantic Hockey series; the Huskies won 3-1 on Friday.

Anthony Hamburg, Matt Garbowsky, Chris Saracino and Greg Noyes scored in the second period to stake the Tigers to a 4-1 lead. Ben Lynch, Brad Reid and Brad McGowan scored in the third for RIT (9-12-5, 7-8-4 Atlantic Hockey).

Jordan Sims scored on a two-man advantage late in the second period for UConn (11-12-3, 8-9-2), which saw Garrett Bartus allow seven goals on 31 shots before being replaced by Matt Grogan.

Jordan Ruby made 24 saves for the Tigers.
