BOSTON — Hayley Scamurra scored the tying goal in the second period and the go-ahead goal in the third as Northeastern rallied from a four-goal deficit for a 5-4 win over Mercyhurst on Friday.

It took the Lakers (0-2-1) just 12:08 to build a 4-0 lead in the first period, but the Huskies (3-1-1) chipped away.

Jordan Krause and McKenna Brand scored power-play goals around a Kendall Coyne short-handed score to pull Northeastern within a goal.

Sarah Robello scored twice for Mercyhurst, while Rachael Smith and Hannah Bale added goals. The Lakers scored on their first three shots of the game, forcing Huskies starting goaltender Sarah Foss to the bench.

Brittany Bugalski stopped 28 of the 29 shots she faced for Northeastern.

Mercyhurst’s Sarah McDonnell allowed four goals on 12 shots through two periods; her replacement, Jessica Convery, allowed the winning goal on five third-period shots.
