Atlantic Hockey weekend wrap up 11/8/10

It was another good weekend for Atlantic Hockey teams in non-league play, with Niagara continuing the AHA string of three wins in three games over Northeastern, and Army also picking up its first non-conference win of the season with a 5-2 win at Massachusetts.

AHA teams are now 5-1-1 in their last seven non-conference games.

In league play, Mercyhurst got its first win of the season Friday with a 6-2 win at Air Force. On Sunday, the Falcons found themselves down 2-0 just five minutes into their game with RIT, but rallied for a 4-3 win.

Connecticut continues to surprise, taking three points from Canisius, defeating the Golden Griffs 3-2 on Friday and skating to a 1-1 tie on Saturday.

Holy Cross came back to earn a split with Robert Morris, winning 3-2 on Saturday after dropping a 4-2 decision on Friday. The Crusaders are off to a 3-1 start in conference play.

And finally, Sacred Heart defeated AIC 4-2 in Bridgeport, Conn. on Saturday afternoon to successfully kick off a series of six AHA contests the Pioneers will play at Harbor Yard Arena.

How’d I Do?

I went 3-5-1  last weekend for a season total of 20-17-2 (.538). One of my worst weeks ever.

Guest analyst Steve Vickery beat me with a record of 4-4-1. I’m now 1-2 against my guests.

Drop me an email if you’re interested in kicking me when I’m down.
