What Have You Done For Me Lately

Turning the focus from last month to last week, here’s your AHA Player of the Week

Paul Zanette, Niagara – The last three USCHO POTW’s have had five point weeks, but Zanette went one better. The senior forward had four goals and two assists in a pair of wins for the Purple Eagles.

Garrett Bartus – Connecticut. Bartus stopped 59 of 62 shots to help the Huskies to take three points from Canisius. UConn is off to its best start in 12 years.

Tony Capobianco – Canisius – The other goalie in Saturday’s 1-1 between UConn and Cansius wasn’t bad either. Capobianco made 39 saves to help the Griffs come away with a point in a 1-1 tie.

Ryan Leets, Army – In his first career start, Leets made 29 saves and recorded an assist in a 5-2 win at Massachusetts.

Two Atlantic Hockey coaches recorded career milestones last week. Mercyhurst’s Rick Gotkin got his 400th win last Friday in a 6-2 win at Air Force, and Bentley coach Ryan Soderquist picked up his 100th win in a 2-1 win over Northeastern.
