Ex-Northeastern skater Madigan new coach of alma mater

According to the Boston Herald, Northeastern will name former player Jim Madigan as the Huskies’ new head coach.

A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday at Matthews Arena.

Madigan played for NU from 1981-1985 and was a member of a pair of Beanpot Tournament-winning teams, as well as Northeastern’s only Frozen Four entrant in 1982. He has been NU’s associate dean for development.

Madigan has also been a scout with the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins.
