New Hampshire goalie DeSmith arrested over domestic dispute

New Hampshire senior goaltender Casey DeSmith was arrested last weekend after a domestic dispute, according to Foster’s Daily Democrat.

At 12:59 a.m. on Aug. 31, Durham police officers received a call from a woman who stated she was a domestic violence victim and that DeSmith had assaulted her. Once the officers located DeSmith, he was taken to a hospital and the officers attempted to handcuff DeSmith, who reportedly resisted and was wrestled to the ground.

DeSmith was taken to the Strafford County Jail on a $5,000 personal recognizance bail and charged with one count of simple assault and one count of resisting arrest.

Last season, DeSmith went 20-16-0 for the Wildcats with a 2.40 GAA and a .920 save percentage.

DeSmith told his side of the story to the Concord Monitor on Dec. 13, 2014.
