National champ Clarkson finishes ’13-14 year ranked No. 1 in D-I women’s poll

Clarkson knocked off defending national champion Minnesota to capture its first Division I women’s national championship and finishes the 2013-14 season ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll.

The Golden Knights earned 14 of 15 first-place votes, with Minnesota taking the other first-place vote.

Clarkson was ranked fourth last week and Minnesota No. 1, as it had been for this entire season.

Wisconsin finishes third, Cornell fourth (down from No. 2) and Boston College fifth, while Mercyhurst is up one to No. 6 and Harvard comes down one to No. 7.

North Dakota stays eighth, Boston University ninth and Quinnipiac at No. 10 round out the final poll of the 2013-14 season.

Robert Morris and Rochester Institute of Technology also received votes this week.

The USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 14 coaches of Division I programs and one women’s hockey writer.
