RIT’s McDonald signs four-year contract extension

Rochester Institute of Technology has signed women’s hockey coach Scott McDonald to a four-year contract extension, the school announced Friday.

McDonald’s contract runs through the 2017-18 season.

He led the school to the CHA playoff championship this season, just its second at the Division I level. RIT was not eligible for the NCAA tournament because it was finishing a two-year probationary period involved in moving from Division III to Division I.

McDonald led the Tigers to the 2012 NCAA Division III championship.

He has a career record of 171-53-18.
