ECAC Hockey on Monday announced that St. Lawrence freshman forward Sam Kauppila has been assessed a one-game suspension as the result of his actions in the St. Lawrence-Princeton contest on Friday, Feb. 10.
The league action was taken after review of an incident that occurred at the 15:55 mark of the second period in the Saints-Tigers game where Kauppila was assessed a penalty for tripping.
Based upon the league’s action, Kauppila is not eligible to compete in the Saints’ next game on Friday, Feb. 17, when SLU hosts Cornell.
