Bitetto bolts Northeastern after two years for deal with Nashville

Northeastern sophomore defenseman Anthony Bitetto has left school and agreed to terms on a two-year entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators.

Bitetto led all Huskies’ defensemen in scoring with 15 points this year and as a freshman, he finished seventh among Hockey East defensemen with 20 points, tied for eighth in conference rookie scoring and was named to the 2010-11 Hockey East All-Rookie Team. He did not miss a game during his two-year collegiate career, compiling 35 points on seven goals and 28 assists in 72 games.

Nashville drafted Bitetto in the sixth round (168th overall) of the 2010 NHL draft.
