Pellegrini named new assistant for Northeastern women

Northeastern has announced the hiring of Jeff Pellegrini as a new assistant coach for the Huskies’ women’s program.

Pellegrini was an assistant last season at Harvard.

“I am very excited about the addition of Jeff to the coaching staff,” Northeastern coach Dave Flint said in a statement. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, is an extremely hard worker and will help us elevate our program to the next level.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to join a university with such a rich tradition in women’s hockey,” added Pellegrini. “I look forward to working with incredibly accomplished coaches in Dave and Linda [Lundrigan]. It’s an honor to coach at such a storied institution with extremely competitive and committed student-athletes and I will strive to continue the winning tradition here at Northeastern.”

Prior to Harvard, Pellegrini was an assistant coach with the Bowdoin, Nichols and Massachusetts-Boston men’s teams and was also the inaugural head coach of the JWHL’s Boston Shamrocks.
