Goaltender Massa returns to Nebraska-Omaha after Stolarz leaves for OHL

In a report Tuesday in the Omaha World-Herald, goalie Ryan Massa is returning to the Nebraska-Omaha team after announcing last summer he was sitting out the 2012-13 season.

This comes on the heels of UNO freshman goalie Anthony Stolarz leaving this week for the Ontario Hockey League’s London Knights.

Massa, who led UNO goalies in minutes last season as a freshman, has been in town skating with the Omaha Lancers junior team.

The story also indicates that since the season is more than half over, UNO wants to try to obtain a redshirt season for Massa.

“If something happens, we’d talk to him and try to pull it off,” UNO coach Dean Blais said in the story. “But that’s a decision that everyone has to be in on.”
