Robinson leaves Lake Superior State after two years for Senators’ contract

Lake Superior State sophomore forward Buddy Robinson has left the Lakers’ program to sign a three-year entry-level contract with the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.

Robinson tallied eight goals and eight assists with 48 penalty minutes in 38 games during the 2012-13 season. In two years with the Lakers, he recorded 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) with 85 penalty minutes over 77 games.

Robinson is the second Lake Superior State player to leave school in the past week with eligibility remaining, following junior forward Kellan Lain, who signed with the Vancouver Canucks.
