Clarkson’s Asselin out one game after ECAC Hockey issues suspension

ECAC Hockey has given Clarkson forward Janick Asselin a one-game suspension after reviewing his ejection from Friday’s game at Merrimack for a contact-to-the-head penalty.

Asselin, a sophomore, got a major for contact to the head and a game misconduct in the third period of the Golden Knights’ 7-1 loss to the Warriors.

He’ll miss Saturday’s game at New Hampshire.

Asselin’s 15 minutes of penalties in Friday’s game was more than his total for his freshman season — 14 on seven minor penalties.
