Deraney out as Providence women’s coach after 19 seasons

Providence announced Friday that Bob Deraney will not continue to serve as the women’s hockey head coach.

Deraney served in that capacity for 19 seasons.

“We appreciate Bob’s efforts over the last 19 years and we wish him the best,” Providence athletics director Bob Driscoll said in a statement. “We will begin a national search immediately to fill this position.”

Over his 19 seasons, Deraney posted a 319-287-73 mark, including a 17-13-7 overall mark (12-7-5 Hockey East) during the 2017-18 campaign.
