Former Notre Dame captain, Alaska Anchorage assistant Jindra joins St. Cloud State staff

St. Cloud State has announced the hiring of T.J. Jindra as the interim coordinator of hockey and video operations.

A former player for Notre Dame from 2003 to 2007, Jindra most recently served as the director of youth programming and development with the USHL’s Madison Capitols and also served as an associate head coach and assistant general manager with the Capitols from 2016 to 2017.

“We couldn’t be more excited about adding T.J. Jindra to our staff,” SCSU coach Brett Larson said in a statement. “T.J. was a highly-respected captain at Notre Dame, a very good recruiter and coach at Alaska Anchorage and really worked hard to help build a new USHL franchise in Madison. He’s very well respected for his leadership, work ethic and knowledge of the game. His skill set and attention to detail make him a great fit to run our video system as well as coordinate day to day hockey operations here at St. Cloud State.”

Jindra will replace Matt Chapman, who was named the interim associate athletic director for athletics revenue and university ticketing at St. Cloud State.

Prior to his time helping build the USHL franchise in Madison, Jindra served for one season as an assistant coach at St. Thomas in 2015-16 and from 2011 to 2015, Jindra was an assistant hockey coach at Alaska Anchorage.

Jindra joined the college coaching ranks as a volunteer assistant coach at Notre Dame during the 2010-11 season and prior to that he began his hockey coaching career as an assistant prep hockey coach at Shattuck-St. Mary’s Preparatory High School from 2008 to 2010.
