Northeastern elevates Carpenito to associate coach of women’s program

Northeastern announced Monday that Nick Carpenito has been promoted to associate head coach of the women’s program.Carpenito had previously served as an assistant coach on the staff since his appointment in June 2014.”I am excited to promote Nick to the position of associate head coach,” Northeastern head coach Dave Flint said in a statement. “He has worked tirelessly to make our program stronger and has played an integral role in our program’s success over the years.”Prior to Northeastern, Carpenito served as an assistant coach at Union in 2013-14 and served a two-year stint at Elmira as a varsity assistant coach and head junior varsity coach. While behind the bench at Elmira, Carpenito helped the varsity squad amass a record of 44-10-2 and the 2013 Division III national championship.Carpenito also worked extensively with the Northeastern club hockey teams as an undergraduate student, playing for the NU men’s club team from 2008 to 2011, while simultaneously coaching the women’s club team. Carpenito’s Huskies won the 2011 ECWHL playoff championship and finished as the national runner-up in Division I of the ACHA, which led to Carpenito being named the ACHA D-I Coach of the Year.A 2011 Northeastern graduate, Carpenito earned his master’s degree from Elmira in 2013.
