Three Win Week Keeps Norwich At Top Of DIII Poll

With a three win week, Norwich improved to a perfect 12-0 and received all 15 first-place votes for the second straight week in the USCHO.com Division III Men’s Poll. Among the other games played in the last seven days, the Cadets downed No. 8 Plattsburgh by a 5-3 score.

Weighing in at second place is St. Norbert, which earned a 2-2 tie with defending national champion Wis.-Superior on Friday. The Green Nights managed a 7-4 win over the No. 6 Yellowjackets in the rematch Saturday.

The poll was remarkably stable from last week, with only one team moving more than one place in the standings, as Oswego entered the poll at No. 13. The Great Lakers defeated last week’s No. 13 team, Wentworth, by a 9-1 margin and so took the Leopards’ spot.

No. 11 Middlebury has the toughest row to hoe this weekend, as the Panthers face No. 12 Colby on Friday before squaring off against No. 5 Bowdoin on Saturday. In all, 14 of the top 15 teams will see action in the next week.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled by U.S. College Hockey Online, and consists of 15 voters, including coaches and beat writers from across the country.
