Fenway Park is renting the ice to various groups prior to the Jan. 1 Winter Classic between the Bruins and the Flyers and college hockey’s Frozen Fenway seven days later.
While the first day of rentals on Dec. 20 was canceled due to issues with a snowstorm, Avon Old Farms and Taft School were able to kick things off with a game on Dec. 21. The next day, the second time slot included a number of former college players from all levels. Some of the former Division I participants included:
