Angers named women’s coach at Nichols

On the eve of the women’s D-III season starting this weekend, Guy Angers has been named head women’s coach at Nichols College.

Angers takes over for Colleen Harris, who resigned in September to become the head women’s coach at Massachusetts-Boston.

Angers was at the helm of the Framingham State men’s team from 1990-1996, leading the Rams to four ECAC playoff appearances.

“I’m excited to be back in the college ranks,” Angers said in a statement. “My goal is to make Nichols College one of the premier teams in the ECAC Women’s East. I think with the team’s dedication and commitment, we will show improvement throughout the course of the year.”

Angers previously served as an assistant hockey coach at Fitchburg State, his alma mater, from 1987-1990, as well as two-year stints as head coach at St. Peter-Marian and Nashoba Regional High Schools.
