Northern Michigan’s Higby gets one-game suspension from WCHA

Northern Michigan’s Erik Higby will sit out Saturday’s game against Michigan Tech after the WCHA issued a one-game suspension earlier in the day.

Higby was given a major penalty for slashing at the end of the second period of Friday’s loss to the Huskies. The league added to the penalty through its Supplementary Discipline Policy and Procedures.

Higby, a senior forward, is tied for second among Wildcats players with 10 goals and is fourth on the team with 16 points.
