Kazmaier finalist Brandt named WCHA player of the year

Minnesota sophomore forward Hannah Brandt, already one of three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, was named WCHA player of the year on Thursday.

Brandt also won the scoring champion award and was named to the All-WCHA First Team.

The Gophers nearly swept all the major individual awards as senior forward Kelly Terry was tabbed outstanding student-athlete of the year, junior defenseman Rachel Ramsey took home defensive player of the year honors, forward Dani Cameranesi earned rookie of the year and coach of the year was Brad Frost.

Wisconsin freshman Ann-Renee Desbiens was named goaltending champion.

The WCHA also named three All-WCHA Teams and an All-Rookie Team.
