WCHA coaches, media both tab Minnesota State as preseason favorite

Both the WCHA coaches and media have selected Minnesota State as the conference’s top team heading in to the 2015-16 season.

The coaches’ poll was conducted by Shane Frederick of the Mankato Free Press, while the media poll was compiled by the Bemidji Pioneer’s Jack Hittinger.

In addition, Alaska senior forward Tyler Morley was chosen preseason Player of the Year and Ferris State forward Corey Mackin was picked as preseason Rookie of the Year by the coaches. Over in the media poll, Minnesota State senior forward Bryce Gervais earned the nod as preseason Player of the Year and Stephen Baylis, a Bowling Green forward, took home preseason Rookie of the Year honors.

The coaches and media also chose preseason All-WCHA Teams.
