Junior defenseman Neville leaves Denver for ‘personal reasons’

Denver announced Thursday that junior defenseman Nick Neville will be leaving the school for “personal reasons,” according to a school-issued press release.

The 22-year-old Neville has appeared in 54 career games for the Pioneers, tallying six points on two goals and four assists. He skated in 10 games this season, recording one goal in addition to a plus-4 plus/minus rating.

“We’d like to thank Nick for his contribution to our program the last two-and-a-half years,” DU coach Jim Montgomery said in a statement. “The door is open for him to return to DU for his senior season, but regardless of what he decides, he’ll always be a Pioneer.”
