Merrimack goaltender Collin Delia has signed with the Chicago Blackhawks and will skip his final season of collegiate eligibility.
Delia was a free agent who ranked ninth in the country in save percentage last season at .927.
“We’re very happy for Collin and wish him nothing but the best as he pursues his dream of playing in the NHL,” Merrimack coach Mark Dennehy said in a statement. “He embodied everything that a true Merrimack Warrior should be and we look forward to watching his career unfold.”
Delia had a 21-24-10 record in three seasons with the Warriors, posting a 2.48 GAA and .912 save percentage.
The wins total and GAA rank fifth in Merrimack’s Division I era.
He was a third-team Hockey East all-star last season after recovering from an injury.
Merrimack goaltenders Drew Vogler and Craig Pantano will be juniors in the 2017-18 season. Freshman Logan Halladay also is scheduled to join the team.
