WCHA suspends Ferris State’s Mayer one game for charging penalty versus Michigan Tech

The WCHA announced Saturday announced a one-game suspension for Ferris State senior forward Andrew Mayer, effective for the Bulldogs’ next game.

The suspension is a result of Mayer’s five-minute major penalty and game misconduct infraction for charging, which occurred at the 6:35 mark of the second period in Ferris State’s game of Friday, Jan. 26 against Michigan Tech.

Upon review, the hit was delivered in a manner that warranted the suspension, according to a WCHA press release.

Ferris State’s next scheduled game is tonight, Jan. 27, against Michigan Tech. Mayer is eligible to return for the Bulldogs’ Friday, Feb. 2 game at Alaska.
