NCHC suspends Miami’s Rymsha one game for head contact penalty against Denver

The NCHC announced Tuesday that it has issued a one-game suspension to Miami senior defenseman River Rymsha.

The suspension stems from an illegal hit to the head during the RedHawks game against Denver on Feb. 23 at Magness Arena in Denver, Colo.

During Saturday night’s game, Rymsha was assessed a major penalty for contact to the head and given a game misconduct at the end of the game with no time remaining.

Rymsha will be required to serve the one-game suspension during Miami’s series opener this Friday, March 1, at Minnesota Duluth. He is eligible to return for the RedHawks in their series finale with the Bulldogs on Saturday, March 2.
