O’Brien leaves Providence, will play 2019-20 season in BCHL

The BCHL’s Penticton Vees have announced that forward Jay O’Brien has committed to the Vees for the 2019-20 season.

The 19th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, O’Brien spent the 2018-19 season with Providence, where he tallied two goals and five points over 25 games for the Friars.

This past year, O’Brien was also a member of Team USA at the World Junior Championship in Vancouver and Victoria, helping Team USA to a silver medal.
