Adrian, D-III top scorer Brothers tabbed USCHO Rookie of the Year

Adrian forward Kyle Brothers has been named the USCHO.com Division III Rookie of the Year for the 2014-15 season.

Brothers, a native of Watford, Ont., led the NCAA semifinalist Bulldogs with 24 goals and 25 assists for 49 points in 30 games and also led all of D-III in scoring as a freshman.

He also added 15 goals and 32 points in 18 NCHA games for Adrian.

Over the course of the season, Brothers was held scoreless in just six games and compiled 15 multi-point games, including a three-goal, two-assist performance on Oct. 31 in his collegiate debut against Northland.

Brothers added another hat trick against Bethel on Jan. 9 and registered four two-goal games as well.

In the Harris Cup semifinals against St. Scholastica, Brothers netted two goals, including the overtime winner.

Showing his disciplined side, Brothers was called for just four minor penalties all season.

Brothers was also named to the 2014-15 USCHO All-Rookie Team.
