NCHC suspends Minnesota-Duluth’s Soucy one game for illegal hit against Bemidji State

The NCHC has issued a one-game suspension to Minnesota-Duluth junior defenseman Carson Soucy for an illegal hit during the Bulldogs game against Bemidji State on Oct. 10.

Soucy was suspended after a review of a play in which a hit was delivered to the head of a Bemidji State player, who was not in possession of the puck, at 17:15 of the first period. A major penalty for contact to the head and a game misconduct was issued on the play.

Soucy will be required to serve the suspension during Minnesota Duluth’s next game on Oct. 16 at Minnesota. He is eligible to return for the finale of the home-and-home series against the Gophers on Oct. 17 in Duluth.
