NCHC suspends Miami’s Switzer additional game for actions against Minnesota Duluth

The NCHC has issued an additional one-game suspension to Miami sophomore defenseman Chaz Switzer, in accordance with the conference’s supplemental discipline policy.

The suspension stems from an incident during Miami’s game against Minnesota Duluth on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Steve Cady Arena in Oxford, Ohio.

Switzer was assessed a major penalty for fighting and given a game disqualification at 18:25 of the first period Saturday. While a game disqualification automatically carries a one-game suspension under NCAA rules, the conference has added an additional one-game suspension for Switzer’s actions.

He will be required to serve the two-game suspension during Miami’s next series, which is this weekend, Nov. 24-25, at Bowling Green. Switzer is eligible to return for the RedHawks’ series opener with Cornell on Friday, Dec. 1.
