NCHC suspends Western Michigan’s Rueschhoff one game for spearing against Bowling Green

The NCHC has issued a one-game suspension to Western Michigan sophomore forward Austin Rueschhoff.

The suspension stems from the illegal use of a stick for spearing during WMU’s game against Bowling Green Tuesday night at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich.

During last night’s game, Rueschhoff was assessed a major penalty for spearing and given a game misconduct penalty at the 11:50 mark of the third period.

Rueschhoff will be required to serve the one-game suspension during WMU’s series opener Friday at Ferris State in Big Rapids, Mich.

He is eligible to return for the Broncos’ series finale with the Bulldogs on Saturday.
