According to the Daily Collegian, UMass forward Garrett Wait suffered an offseason training injury and will not play for the Minutemen during the 2022-23 season.

The injury may also end Wait’s hockey career.

Wait transferred to UMass from Minnesota in 2020. He scored the game-winning goal against Minnesota Duluth in the 2021 national semifinals, sending UMass to the title game, which they won.

Over his two seasons with UMass, Wait tallied 42 points (22 goals, 20 assists).
