Preseason Division III Women’s All-USCHO Teams Announced

The USCHO.com Preseason Division III Women’s All-USCHO teams were announced today. Leading the way are three Plattsburgh Cardinals on the first team. Seniors Erin O’Brien and Carolyne Roy and junior Elizabeth Gibson represent the Cardinals on the first team. Defending NCAA Champion Middlebury placed two on the teams as did Elmira and Gustavus Adolphus. Nine other teams had student-athletes on the three teams.

The ECAC West had a total of six on the teams, the NESCAC placed four, while the MIAC, ECAC East and NCHA had three each.

On the first team are Roy, an ECAC West First-Team selection and Goaltender of the Year, O’Brien, an ECAC West First Team selection and Gibson, a First Team selection and the ECAC West Player of the Year. Joining the trio are Laura Hurd, another ECAC West First Team selection, Erin Kegley, an NCHA First Team selection and Andrea Peterson, the MIAC Player of the Year and First Team All-Rookie pick.

The second team sees two from defending NCAA Champion Middlebury in Lorna Gifas and Shannon Tarrant, two NESCAC First-Team picks. Andrea Ciarletta, the ECAC East Rookie of the Year, from Mass.-Bowton, Ingrid Neve a MIAC All-Conference and All-Rookie member from Gustavus Adolphus and Ashley Trimble, and ECAC East First Team member round out the skaters. The ECAC East First Team Goaltender, Rosina Schiff of Rensselaer, rounds out the second team.

On the third team are Lauren Chezick, MIAC All-Conference, of Augsburg, Meghan Gillis, the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, of Bowdoin and Deanna Weigand, the ECAC West Rookie of the Year, from Utica are the forwards. On defense are Nadine Aubin of Wisconsin-Superior and Rachel Simon of Amherst (NESCAC second team). The goaltender is Edith Racine of Elmira.
