RIT’s Schuler may miss 2014-15 season with concussion symptoms

According to the Democrat and Chronicle, RIT junior forward Dan Schuler, who led the team with 13 goals last season, is out indefinitely with concussion symptoms.

“He could be out for the year,” Tigers coach Wayne Wilson said in the report. “We just don’t know.”

Schuler suffered a concussion during a game late in the 2013-14 season and was reportedly injured again playing handball in the spring.

“He hasn’t practiced a day for us,” Wilson said. “Every time he does something like lift weights or run, he has reoccurring headaches.”

In addition, junior forward Andrew Miller had labrum surgery in May and may not be available until the end of the month, while senior forward Brad Reid, who also underwent labrum surgery, was cleared on Monday, but is not game-ready.

“We’re down to 12 healthy forwards right now,” Wilson said. “And we usually have 15.”
