Women’s D-I picks: March 20

Last week, I went 3-1 (.750). This postseason, I am 29-15 (.659). Only three games left.

Harvard vs. Boston College
This might be more of a heart pick. These two split so far, with each winning on home ice. What does neutral ice equal? Boston College 3-1

Wisconsin at Minnesota
As I said in our Wednesday Women column, while Wisconsin has played well of late, the Badgers have struggled against the Gophers, and are on an 0-15-2 run. I don’t see it changing on home ice. Minnesota 4-2

  2. Back to Lake Placid.  Olympic Regional Development Association wants it.  Lake Placid is a great destination.

Another idea – combine the Atlantic Hockey Championship and ECAC Championship at one arena, cut out the ECAC consolation game.  Atlantic Hockey at 2 on the undercard, ECAC at 7.  Atlantic Hockey can play the semis Thursday or early Friday.  The could probably play on the ’32 rink in Placid with the number of non-RIT fans that show up.  Does anyone remember when ECAC and Hockey East had their championships at the Boston Garden.  Not sure of the logistics, but it worked.

  3. Albany is the geographic center point for all the ECAC schools and makes the most sense. While not a “garden spot” with a FanFest and good bars/restaurants in the area, plus adequate hotels/housing, what else do people want? We’re there for the hockey, not the streetwalkers. With four NY colleges, and an easy bus ride for all othersa, except possibly Princeton, it’s a no brainer.

  4. Disappointed in Colgate’s performance. They’ve an inability to win the big one. Also, it seems they are plagued by bad calls going way back to that semi-final game vs. Michigan in the NCAAs. What a travesty of refereeing.
