Vermont learned Thursday that starting junior goaltender Mike Santaguida (unspecified lower body injury) will be sidelined 8-12 weeks, according to the Burlington Free Press.

Catamounts’ coach Kevin Sneddon said via text to the paper Thursday that no decision will be made on the team’s starter in goal until Friday morning.

Junior Patrick Feeley took over for Santaguida when he was injured with about four minutes remaining in Saturday’s game at Boston University -  his first appearance in a game in his two-plus years at Vermont.

Freshman Packy Munson has yet to play in a game for Vermont.

“Bottom line, we’ve got two goaltenders we don’t know much about in terms of game situations,” Sneddon said in the article. “Feeley got the nod the other day and did some good things, but it was pretty short-lived. We have no idea how Packy Munson’s going to fare in a game. It’s safe to say we have to learn pretty quickly.”
