Penn State loses sophomore blueliner Kerr for season with lower-body injury

According to the Penn State student newspaper, the Daily Collegian, Nittany Lions sophomore defenseman Kevin Kerr will miss the remainder of the season with a lower-body injury.

Kerr fell feet first into the boards and stayed on the ice for a couple of minutes before being helped off the ice against Wisconsin back on Feb. 10.

“I don’t think you ever want to lose a player like Kevin Kerr, regardless of if it’s for a game or for the season,” Penn State senior forward Ricky DeRosa said to the Collegian. “He’s been instrumental this entire year to our [defensive] core, such a good guy on and off the ice.”

In 25 games, Kerr compiled two goals and 13 points.
