Bowes Issues Statement On Wentworth Dismissal

Former Wentworth head coach Bill Bowes, who was fired on January 30, has issued a statement regarding his departure from the program.

In a letter to USCHO.com, Bowes elected not to discuss at length the reasons for his dismissal, instead emphasizing his support for his players and thanking well-wishers who have supported him.

“I want to make sure people know I didn’t hit a kid or anything remotely like that,” Bowes said. “The timing of these things can lead people to expect the worst.”

Bowes did say that his dismissal was the result of “a disagreement with the administration that had been going on for some time.”

The full text of Bowes’ letter appears in USCHO.com Division III correspondent Chris Lerch’s Feb. 12 weekly column.
