Ryan Poehling’s goal in the third period broke a 2-2 tie and lifted No. 1 St. Cloud State to a win over No. 3 Denver, clinching the Penrose Cup as NCHC regular season champion in the process. Northeastern blanked New Hampshire in the final home game for UNH coach Dick Umile, who is retiring at the end of the year.

    • Where were the fans Friday night? The season tix holder I sat next to was bitching about all the no shows. Heard Saturday was more of the same. WTH!

      • I was there. I agree that there were too many empty seats for a game that big. People just don’t care as much anymore, I guess.
