Bowdoin to enshrine former women’s standout, current coach O’Neil into school’s Hall of Honor

The 2018 Bowdoin athletic Hall of Honor ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 6 at the Kresge Auditorium in the Visual Arts Center.

The event is free and open to the public and will begin with coffee and light refreshments at 9 a.m., followed by the ceremony at 10 a.m.

This will be the 13th class inducted into the school’s Hall of Honor and will recognize six individuals, spanning seven decades of Bowdoin Athletics.

Field hockey and ice hockey star Marissa O’Neil, who graduated in 2005, will be honored. O’Neil was a three-time All-NESCAC honoree, where she helped lead the most successful senior class in Polar Bear women’s hockey history (85 wins, two NESCAC championships, two Final Fours).

O’Neil is entering her ninth season as head coach for her alma mater.
